DESIGN STRATEGY, PRODUCT DESIGN

Top Charts

Design lead for top charts, a new area of the reading app Scribd where customers can consistently find bestseller books and audiobooks to inspire them to read more + find value in their subscription. Collaborated with product, back-end engineering to define content strategy. Led design approach + designed the end-to-end experience across platforms on Android, iOS + web.

 

CONTENT STRATEGY, A/B TESTING, PRODUCT DESIGN

Homepage Experience

Designed the current home page experience for a reading subscription service, Scribd. The goal of the project was to let customers indicate what kind of format (books, audiobooks, magazines, or documents) they're interested in via the homepage.  Defined content strategy + worked with the back-end recommendations team to define new type of recommendations to help users discover what to read.

USER RESEARCH, UX STRATEGY, PRODUCT DESIGN

Product Perceptions

Focusing on active churn at Scribd, led a generative research study to learn about the document customer's perception of the Scribd product offering. Strategized action items from the research and was the product design lead for subsequent projects -- using contextual messaging, visual design + content strategy to educate and onboard customers about Scribd's offering.

 

UX STRATEGY, PRODUCT DESIGN

Follow Magazines

Lead designer for the follow magazines experience for Scribd, focusing on improving magazine subscriber engagement and retention. The goal was to let customers follow their favorite magazines and receive updates through email + push notifications about the latest magazine issues -- enabling customers to have a consistent and reliable way to find out about new issues from the sources they care about, on platforms iOS, Android, & Web.

BRANDING, VISUAL DESIGN

Rebranding Scribd

Worked on the Scribd Rebrand with a team of 4 (Head of Design, Head of Marketing, Principal Marketing Designer, and myself). Lead the visual identity for the rebrand including -- the color palette, typography, and iconography. Worked with iOS, Android & web teams to apply the rebrand across all type, iconography, and color in our product.

Designing AR for the museum experience

Working with the Seattle Burke Museum, I designed and helped build an Android application. MuSee is an Android app that creates an augmented reality for users to learn more deeply about artifacts at a museum --- by scanning an artifact using image recognition they can learn more through related videos, songs or photos all on their phones.
